3/4 Birthday!

Today is an important day. Lukas has now been outside as long as he was inside.

The events began with a long session of examining all his books, including a thorough examination of Pat the Bunny, whose pages are a bit easier to turn and whose corners are delicious.

Events continued with a nap on Pappa:

Much like this nap on Day 1 of his life:

Further events included moving across town, a visit to Daniel's old workplace, carrots and bananas at the new table, and a nice long bath before bed.

The Rickshaw

Baby Hair

After copious amounts of postpartum hair-loss I started to look for new hairdos that would cover my receding hairline. But thankfully, my body regretted shedding it's forehead hairs, and decided to grow me some bangs. What does one do with bangs that are 1/3 of the way down one's forehead? Any kindergartners out there have some advice?

Oh no! Lukas' bangs are longer than Mama's!

But we are happy just to not be bald, for now

Really, it's Lukas' blog.

His new trick, clapping!
Standing up with a bit of help

Salad

...with homemade feta (lactose-free) cheese. What can't the man do?

Afternoon Visit with New Friends

Passing Time in the Afternoon

It's hot. We walk at 6:30 a.m. because even though we're dripping in sweat by the end, the sun is usually not quite fully up. So we stay inside the rest of the day. I have a language lesson in the morning,
My tutor on the left, the downstairs neighbor on the right who stopped by to see me? or the one on her lap...

and in the afternoon, after lunch and nap, this little outdoorsman is stuck inside but learning to cope,

with nice long baths...

and snacks

and wrestling with Papa

and thinking about maybe sometime considering crawling

The Last Harvest

In our airport bucket of treats were 3 honey crisp apples from our tree, some carrots and beans from the garden, and the left over zestars from the farmers market.

The Journey

Goodbye to Minneapolis!

And various sleeping accommodations (do you spot the grey friend with him each time?):
The plane bassinet
Mama's arms (he was THAT tired by the this 3rd flight from Doha to Dhaka)

Crashed at the Dhaka guest house after a record number of hours awake - so many people and things to soak in!

First train ride - early the next morning to our city
