Pappa Photoshoot

Needing just the right photo for our latest newsletter, Daniel set the stage and Lukas obliged:

Goodbye, Beautiful Locks

I just love(d) these beautiful curls.

But now they are gone :(. See how sad Lukas is about it?

but he's cooler now, and still pretty cute, I think.

Easter

Elias and Maia with their plunder. Notice lots of candy bars... I managed to hide one well enough that they couldn't find it, so I got to eat it!

Some of the pretty eggs, painted by E&M, tiny speckled ones were not stolen from some poor bird's nest, quail eggs are fairly common here.

"Melissa & Daniel Thomas", an artwork by Daniel Thomas:

Daniel and I got to make Easter dinner: beef roast with cabbage and carrots, mashed potatoes and gravy, deviled eggs and ice cream with strawberry silt for dessert.

We also sang, because Easter is about Jesus, not eggs!!

Here you can see Lukas longing for Obed's friendship. Lukas is learning not to harm Obed, and just to look at him. He has not yet learned to talk with a gentle baby voice, but likes to shout at Obed. Obed is getting used to Lukas, and we think they will soon be fast friends :)

E&M made this very nice guitar from a milk box and rubberbands:

Strawberries

Strawberries are in season here, and we are busy eating and freezing them. Lukas is happy with this development.

Ridin' Along in My Automobile

His little orange car initially was not received too warmly, though occasionally he'd push it around and crawl after it. But this morning he figured out how to mount it, and this afternoon he was doing this:

Family, Continued

টিপ (teep) is this lovely red beauty sticker dot. Ladies wear it to enhance their beauty, why not delicious babies?

These lovely ladies work in our family's house. They love Lukas and he loves them, though this photo doesn't capture that. Even extraverts gets tired of people.

The Farm

Though they live in our city, their lifelong dream has been to move to the family farm, and as the girls finish school the dream is progressing nicely:

Family

Here is the lovely family who has taken us in to share life for a bit. Because they are easy to love, Bangladesh is growing on me.

Joey, Raju, Sara, and Monia dressed up for দাওয়াত (a dinner invitation)

and chillin' with the king in the middle

The Hat.

Auntie Kina gave him this brilliant hat that ties. Velcro holds no match.

Chocolate and Sleep, Continued.

Papa eats chocolate too. Here is the latest favorite (but I use half the coconut oil).

Why not sleep like you're doing jumping jacks?
