Frida is 2!!

As I've been updating the blog the last hour or so, Frida has been chatting away in her bed. The last half hour mostly consisted of the "Happy Birthday" song. She can also sing most of "Jesus Loves Me" and does quite well in carrying the tune.

We really like her, and as Auntie Kari mentioned in a text on her birthday, we can't even remember life without Frida! She makes us laugh, a lot. One of my current favorites goes something like this:
Me: "Frida, it's time to (do something you don't want to)"
Frida: "No!!!!!"
Me: "I love you, it's time to obey."
Frida: (with a cheeky smile) "okay! I obey" (giggle)

Of course I know it won't always be that simple, but I'm sure enjoying it while it is!! We love you Frida. Even if you're a big girl reading this on a bad day. We're so thankful God gave you to our family!!!

Best friends dressing up for their sister's big day:

Frida slept in on her birthday, and the boys nearly went crazy waiting to celebrate her. Here Lukas is miserably waiting outside her door:

But she did wake up, and there was much doting on her:

We decorated and put on our party hats:

And fika finally came. Ice cream with Frida's favorite things as toppings: chocolate chips, strawberries and marshmallows.

And of course presents and cards.

April

With Natalie, Molly & Whitney

Can you find a boy up in this tree?

Papa's birthday ice cream from Auntie Hanna!!

Easter!! We enjoyed the sunrise service at the Avras, as well as the Jubilee service. We also decorated and hid eggs, played the egg roll - who's is toughest? game (Papa's). And Frida and I had matching dresses (thanks Grandma!!) and the boys and Daniel had matching ties.

The silverwood great horned owl babies.
Hard to get a good photo...

The future of gentle policing.

Brad and Micah built this very nice tipi at Grandpa and Grandma's house. Daniel and the boys added on the rain shelter/secret tunnel exit on the right:

Thanks for the tutu Auntie Mercy!

We read and made Stone Soup

1st time making his name!

A picnic/playground/beach morning at French Park

2nd time making his name!

The 100th Day of School!! is a big deal in kindergarten. We had been having small "Zero the Hero" celebrations each multiple of 10 day, and on the 10th 10 we got donuts, because they're the BEST thing in the shape of a zero.

He also got a present - 100 markers!!
He has taken very good care of them.

Check out this budding student's pen grip.
Very proper.

The bike park down by Nokomis is our new favorite go-to destination. All three bikers can show their tricks.

See the fox? We happened upon her the Sunday we were going into "x" as in fox!! She had 5 puppies with her, but it was drizzly and funny lighting so you can't see them in the photo. But isn't the Lord kind? Who gets to see a fox with 5 puppies?! and the week of "x"?!
